[sociallocker]Choosing the cheapest SEO company or, in fact, choosing the cheapest of anything, is hardly ever a great philosophy to follow. Cheap SEO companies are usually cheap for a reason…because they have no work…because they aren’t busy so they need to be cheap to undercut everyone else. But if a SEO service is cheap then the chances are that the service is cheap too – as in the deliverable. Corners are probably being cut and we tend to find that the cheapest SEO companies aren’t generally very forthcoming with a breakdown of what they are doing to their clients’ websites and overall online presences. Practices that they employ are likely to be shady and known as black hat SEO. In the old westerns the good guy often wore a white hat and the villian wore a black hat. Good, ethical organic SEO practices are known as white hat SEO and shady tactics are often referred to as black hat SEO. You’d be advised to choose the former. Black hat SEO actually does work but with short-term results, in fact you’d probably get some quick results with black hat SEO if I’m being honest but we’re in the business of helping to build businesses. White hat SEO is certainly the way to go. After all, why would you spend time putting money and time into black hat SEO practices when the results of your efforts are going to be cumulative if you use only white hat organic SEO techniques. It’s pretty much a no-brainer really to go with the ethical approach to this popular form of digital marketing.
The thing about these SEO companies is that they are cropping up all over the place. Most of them are working from their bedrooms and charging basement prices. There’s nothing wrong with working from one’s bedroom if you’re going to grow the business but too many of these cheap SEO companies are actually in it to make a quick few quid. Some of the people who start these cheap SEO firms might have done a crash course in SEO, perhaps for a few weeks, have no real results behind them and be using all kinds of shady sales techniques such as guaranteeing first page results – which is often a sign of a scam SEO company – they’re likely to give you results for the most obscure of search positions that no-one is ever likely to search for you with. You’re better off paying an established SEO or digital marketing company which has been in business a while and check their references and happy client testimonials. Just check for results and check their own search engine positions.[/sociallocker]
