A micro-business is a business of between 2 and 10 employees. These types of businesses are important for the UK economy and, many of these will grow into larger companies. Micro-businesses can benefit from having at least one video online but making a video seems out of reach of many micro-businesses. Or so it might seem. The types of videos that small businesses usually make or have made from them are either a video walkthrough or case studies. We also see a lot of video testimonials from happy customers and business owner in front of the camera imparting the Who, Where, What, Why, How type of efforts.
For a start, I think that the best kinds of videos, if you’re only going to do the one, are video walk throughs. If you have the budget of course then by all means go ahead and have a clever, creative video made, possibly animated, certainly well-planned out and story boarded. But for many micro-businesses, video walk throughs can be a fantastic way to get a video online. A video walk through involves filming your businesses premises and then simply speeding it up…usually by about 10 times or 1000%. For this, you’ll need a video camera and a computer. Your computer will need some video editing software.
So, as you can see, producing a video for your business is certainly a target that is attainable. If you have a budget for video then you can hire a video production company but, with a little perseverance, you can probably put something pretty good together yourself.
