Web Usability is valuable to any website. It involves testing websites with end users. The problem is that too many online presences are created by developers using a development perspective. Users are not involved in the process. The client is only consulted in the initial requirements and acceptance stages.
Website Usability
Generally, the developer doesn’t use the website, neither does the client. The end users are the prospective customers and the clients. They are the ones is need to find information quickly on your website and they are the ones who we should be thinking about during the design process. We can developer solutions to usability guidelines but this is not always enough. Ongoing testing is important too.
Web Usability Testing
There are different types of web site tests available that can improve your online presence. From ones which involve user observation to testing that can be done based upon expert experience using proven Web Design Usability guidelines. Test, test and test again is my advice.
The Costs
Unfortunately, usability testing is usually outside of the budget of smaller businesses therefore the benefits of website usability testing are confined to medium to large organisations. Web designers of small business websites can still follow the usability guidelines though and, in doing so, improve user experience. So if you’ve got a website that isn’t performing very well then seek Web Design Usability consultation and if you are a web designer then ensure that you are developing solutions based upon user experience recommendations.
